Thanks to the extra vigor derived from grafting, it will develop a woody trunk and a massive crown head. The tasty leaves should constantly be harvested. Both for culinary purposes and to maintain the plant’s attractive domed shape. If not trimmed, the crown will grow very large (50 cm diameter) and eventually collapse open. If this happens, cut back the green growth to 3-5 cm long shoots. The crown will grow back to full size in 2-3 weeks. This lucrative product is best to sell in 2L decorative pots. The proper time is once the trunk has become woody (6-8 months after planting).
