Chateau Guiraud
Ever since 2001, Chateau Guiraud has had its own conservatory of white grapevine varieties, the only one of its kind in the world. In our winery, this invaluable reserve contains 135 original strains of semillion and of white sauvignon blanc. This action maintains the diversity of the vines and ensures the perenniality of the vineyard, which is a formidable asset. Furthermore it guarantees the infinite complexity of our great wines, and is also of inestimable pedagogical value.
A study undertaken in the summer of 2010 revealed 635 species of insects and spiders in our vineyards. This illustrates the harmony that reigns in a well-balanced environment. The vine thus concentrates on the quality of its fruit.Β Mr. Luc Planty is the technical director de Chateau Guiraud.
How to get to our Chateau: From Bordeaux take motorway A62 towards Toulouse. Take exit 3 (Langon) then follow the signs to Villandraut and Sauternes. After 6km turn left at the STOP sign. The entrance to ChΓ’teau Guiraud is on the right at 400 metres, driveway bordered by plane trees.
